If you can't donate directly or volunteer with Compassion Through Action there are many other ways you can help. Please use the resources below to find out how you can personally participate in forwarding the goals of Compassion Through Action.

Making Your Own Kits

We encourage our fellow Compassionators everywhere to consider carrying sack lunches and/or hygiene kits in their vehicles to hand out to any homeless individuals that they encounter in their daily lives.

The sack lunch could include:

  • Sandwich
  • Bottled Water
  • Piece of Fruit
  • Cookies or other treat
  • Chips

You can also include other healthy snacks like roasted nuts. **Please note that if you prefer not to deal with perishables, you can always replace the sandwich with a tuna/chicken and crackers snack pack and dried fruit instead of fresh items.

If you or someone you know travels often, ask them to collect the hotel toiletries for you. A good hygiene kit should include:

  • Soap
  • Lotion
  • Lip balm
  • Sunscreen
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste

Other great items to include are tweezers, nail clippers, moist towelettes, razors, a first aid kit, deodorant, etc. Many of these items are also very affordable if you shop online or at one of your local dollar stores. For these type of hygiene kits, we use quart sized plastic zip bags. Of course you can use whatever you choose.

By regularly packing and having sack lunches and hygiene kits available as you navigate around your city or town, you will have the ability to brighten someone's day by offering him or her much needed food and water or hygiene items, or both!
